NEW YORK CITY, NY (ANS) -- American’s largest and most famous city, New York, is about to experience a taste of the extraordinary revival that has been sweeping South Korea in recent times.

The “New York 2006” healing crusade will take place in the historic Madison Square Garden on July 27, 28 and 29 and will be led by Dr. Jaerock Lee, senior pastor of the 100,000-member Manmin Joong-Ang Church in Seoul, South Korea.

Joining Dr. Lee will be the Manmin Hallelujah Praise Team who have been learning worship choruses in English and will perform each night before Dr. Lee preaches.

When asked why the Manmin team always learn the language of the country where they sing and dance, Johnny Kim, director of Manmin TV, explained, “It is because the Apostle Paul said that he would become Jew to win Jews, and a Roman to win Romans. It is very important to open the heart of the local people and communicate with them the Gospel of Jesus Christ in their local language.”

Also participating in “New York 2006” will be a multi-ethnic group of singers which include Alvin Slaughter, Martha Munizzi, Jaime Murrel, Carmen Sanabria, Tatyana Martsinkovski, Marina Baranova and Igor Rudiy.

Medical checks

Like at all of his crusades, Dr. Lee will pray for the sick who attend the meetings. Before each service, a medical table will be set up for people who are sick to go and be diagnosed by Korean and American doctors and nurses and then, after being prayed for, if they believe they are healed, they will return back so that the medics can check out whether the healing had taken place from a medical perspective.

Kim said, “Some of the medical doctors who attended the 3rd World Christian Doctors Network conference in Cebu, Philippines will also be there to help take care of the medical check-up and examination of the sick who will be healed at Madison Square Garden.”

When asked why Dr. Lee is holding his crusade in New York City, Johnny Kim, said, “It is because Rev. Dr. Jaerock Lee, the speaker, was touched by the Holy Spirit through his prayer to conduct the crusade in New York in 2006.

“New York is, for many people, the center of the world, representing the civilization of this generation. However, the people of this great city went through a terrible experience on 9/11 and we believe that God wants to console them.

“We also believe that God also wants them to be awakened spiritually through the life-giving message of Jesus Christ with the tangible evidences which confirms the message.”

I asked Kim why he felt it was important to preach the Gospel with signs and wonders following.

“It is because Jesus said in John 4:48, ‘Unless you people see the miraculous signs and wonders, you will never believe.’ It is critically important to preach the Gospel with the tangible evidences which confirm the message so that the congregation may believe in the truth of the Bible which says that God is the Creator and that Jesus Christ is our only Savior.”

Johnny Kim said that Dr. Lee will speak on the following topics:

• Why is Jesus our only Savior?

• God the Creator

• The power of the Holy Spirit

Kim then asked for prayer for the New York outreach.

“Please pray for the impact of the crusade; that the people not only in New York City, but all over the United States of America, and the world, may awake spiritually, believing that God is alive even today and Bible is true as they watch via the live satellite TV coverage.”

He then revealed the various TV networks that will be carrying the crusade.

“They are the Global Christian Network (GCN) and its local New York station, Channel 17, as well as La familia, Cosmovision, Almavision, and RBN,” said Kim.

He then revealed that this could be the last-but-one international outreach for Dr. Lee.

“When Dr. Lee prayed about it, he was touched by the Holy Spirit that the crusade he is going to conduct in New York will be the last one officially before he enters into Israel in year 2007,” said Kim. “But if the Holy Spirit so guides him, he may still conduct other crusades in different parts of the world.”

Kim added that New York State Senator, the Rev. Dr. Ruben Diaz, who was born in Puerto Rico, has encouraged local pastors to attend the crusade in Madison Square Garden and bring along their congregations.

The Rev. Dr. Ricardo Reyes, chairman of the preparation committee, has said "I believe God Almighty is going to work tremendously through this coming crusade and it is going be a great blessing for the people who attend it.”

Kim said that the Rev. Dr. Emilio Reyes, vice president of Hispanic/Latino Ministries for the American Bible Society., has printed 1 million special leaflets to promote the crusade.

Kim concluded by saying, “We are also hoping that the many Korean and Russian people who live in New York will also attend in great numbers.”

Medical Doctors Present Scientific Evidence Of Divine Healing At Conference In The Philippines

The theme of the unique gathering was “Spirituality and Medicine” and was held under the auspices of the World Christian Doctors Network (WCDN), founded by Dr. Jaerock Lee, senior pastor of Manmin Joong-ang Church, Seoul, Korea.

 

“WCDN is an international Christian medical organization that addresses not only urgent questions facing the Christian medical community today, but is also the first of its kind that objectively confirms and examines instances of healing by the power of God,” said a spokesperson for the organization.

 

Delegates were delighted hear of a congratulatory message for the conference sent by Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, President of the Philippines and also from Francisco T. Duque III, M.D., Msc., the country’s Secretary of Health.

 

Keynote addresses were delivered by the Hon. Antonio Yapha, Jr., M.D., Chairman of the Committee on Health and a member of the Philippines’ House of Representatives, and the Rev. Bishop Romeo Corpuz Sr., President of All Creation Global Network Ministries, Inc.

“The conference emphasized God as ‘the healer’ and an exchange of notes on cases of divine healing through prayer,” said the WCDN spokesperson.

 

Following the lecture on “Spirituality and Medicine III” by Dr. Joonha Hwang M.D., Ph.D., Chairman of the WCDN, real medical data backing the claims were presented by physicians on maladies such as gastric cancer, quadriplegia, intracerebral hemorrhage, severe disability, thoracic tumor, Celiac disease, infertility, facial burns, tennis elbow tendonitis, liver cirrhosis, and other incurable diseases.

 

“When the presentations of God's healing were complete, the audience responded with applause and then shared with one another about the grace they had just received,” said the spokesperson.

On June 2nd, Dr. David Prentice (Senior Fellow for Life Sciences at the Family Research Council, a Washington D.C.-based think tank), gave a special lecture entitled: “Stem Cells, Cloning, and Other Biotechnologies: What Value for Human Life?”

 

“After each presentation of medical data, physicians had opportunities to ask questions and hear responses from the presenters,” concluded the WCDN spokesperson. “Moreover, as physicians from 26 countries discussed the future of the WCDN, they exchanged ideas and opinions for further development of the Network.”

Dr. Jaerock Lee, senior pastor of the 100,000-member Manmin Joong-Ang Church in Seoul, South Korea and his team conducted a “New York Crusade 2006 / Miracles, Salvation, Revival” in "The World's Most Famous Arena" Madison Square Garden on July 27, 28 and 29.

Rev. Dr. Jaerock Lee awakened church leaders and participants at the Festival with such messages filled with life as, "Why Is Jesus our only Savior?" "God the Creator," and "The Power of the Holy Spirit," and whenever the messages were proclaimed, the audience responded with shouts of joy and applause.

Like at all of his crusades, after proclaiming the messages, Dr. Lee prayed for the sick who attended the meetings. There was no end in sight of people wishing to testify to having their eyes opened, having come to speak, having stood up from their wheelchairs, and having thrown out their crutches. And doctors and nurses from 6 countries checked out whether the healing had taken place from a medical perspective and the testimonies from the three-day Festival were received by them.

VIPs who sat on stage, included Dr. David Waisman, vice president of Peru; Dr. Frank Wright, president of NRB and a former high official from Dubai.

The crusade was broadcast live to many countries through GCN, a local New York TV station, as well as around the world via satellite channels including RTNC, La familia, Cosmovision, Almavision, RBN etc and interpreted in English, Spanish, and Russian.

“It was great to experience how God Almighty planned and accomplished His will through the New York crusade,” said Johnny Kim, director of Manmin TV. “So many people came and accepted Jesus Christ as their Saviour and gave thanks to God the Father for His love who has given us even the only begotten Son to save us from sin, through the messages and the prayer of Dr. Lee at Madison Square Garden.

“According to Dr. Ricardo Reyes, the chairman of organizing committee, first night around 14,000 multi ethnical congregation gathered together, 15,000 for the second night, 20,000 for the last night gathered for the crusade.

“The first night was started with prayer for the different multi ethnical groups. Dr. Mikhail Morgulis, the chairman of Slavic Committee of the crusade in Russian language. And Dr. Frank Wright, the president of NRB, appreciated the activity of Manmin TV (an NRB member), and asked Dr. Lee to pray for the next election so that God-fearing men and women would be elected.

“Harvey Thomas CBE, the chairman of the Federation of European Broadcasters (FEB) greeted the congregation in the second night saying "We are different but as children of God we need to be united in Christ Jesus." After attending the crusade, Mr. Thomas said, "I've never heard such a biblical message like Dr. Lee's and the performance of Manmin ministry is so fantastic and holy. I believe it would be acceptable to any other culture."

‘Roof of the world’ miracles take place on first night of unique Korean healing festival

SILIGURI, INDIA (ANS) -- Some 3,000 people packed into the Himalayan Conference and Retreat Center in Siliguri, India, a city at the foothills of the eastern Himalayas, on Monday, November 13, to participate in an extraordinary first night of the "Himalayan Healing Festival", conducted by a team from Seoul, South Korea.

The region is known to many as the “Roof of the World” because of its high location close to the magnificent Himalaya Mountains. Together, the Himalaya mountain system is the planet's highest and home to all fourteen of the world's highest peaks.

According to an eye-witness, there were many miracles of salvation and healing recorded on the first night of the gathering led by Mikyung Lee, the speaker, with a mission team from the 100,000-member Manmin Joong-ang Church.

“The people, both Christian and non-Christian, who came from different parts of the West Bengal region of India and also from different countries, including Nepal and Bhutan, literally rushed into the conference center and were soon praising the Lord in the Nepali language which is widely spoken in this area,” said Johnny Kim, director of Manmin TV, who was in Siliguri to attend the festival. “The event was conducted by Rev. Sam H. Sereng, chairman of the organizing committee.”

Kim explained that the healing festival had come about after some of the pastors in Himalaya region came to know about the ministry of Manmin and its senior pastor and founder, Rev. Dr. Jaerock Lee, through a Manmin missionary in Nepal.

“At first they asked Dr. Lee to come and conduct the crusade for this region, but after praying, Dr. Lee decided to send a mission team including Pastor Mikyung Lee, his second daughter, on his behalf,” said Johnny Kim.

“The speaker just obeyed her father’s request to visit and to minister the region and she received the prayer from Dr. Lee on her handkerchief before she left for the region to conduct the healing festival and seminar.

“With the opening prayer of Dr. Ardon Rongong, the director of Campus Crusade for Christ Bhutan, and the publisher of a monthly Christian magazine, based in Siliguri, the healing festival started.

“Rev. Sam H. Sereng introduced the Korean delegation with warm welcoming traditional way of the region presenting the scarves made of local material from different parts of the region.

“The congregation responded with loud applause when the Crystal Singers from Manmin Church praised the Lord in Nepali, Hindi and English, with singing and dancing, both traditional and modern. The heart of the unbelievers were opened through the beautiful heavenly performance.”

Kim went on to say that Mikyung Lee preached on the topic, "Why is Jesus Christ our only Savior?" based on Acts 4:11-12 and emphasized the importance of first repenting of sin and then accepting Jesus Christ as their personal Savior “to become children of God and to enjoy blessing as God's children.”

Kim said, “After the message, many unbelievers accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior and the congregation were strengthened in their faith through the message which clearly explained the reason why only Jesus can be our Savior.”

Later, Dr. Rongong said, "The message was so biblical and clear to help people understand why Jesus Christ is only Savior. I'd like to cover the whole message in the magazine I publish so that many people in the Himalaya region may hear the message. I would like to ask you to pray for the people in Bhutan where the political system is now changing so that the gospel may spread actively."

Johnny Kim then explained, “Speaker Mikyung Lee then prayed for the sick after explaining the extraordinary miracle that had taken place through the Apostle Paul with the handkerchief in Acts 19:11-12.

“A 60-year-old man, who had been suffering from being paralyzed for long time, tried move his arm and leg and finally he stood up with help of ushers and came forward the stage to testify while the speaker was still praying. The crowd were excited to see the manifestation of the power of the living God by themselves.”

Dr. Philip Anbarassan, the director of the World Christian Doctor's Network in India and the former commissioner of health in the state of Kerala, was at the site with some of the nurses to medically check the cases of healing.

He said afterwards, "I was amazed to see the manifestation of the power of God Almighty through Rev. Dr. Jaerock Lee but now I am experiencing the same miracles through his daughter, Mikyung Lee."

"It was amazing"

Rev. Sereng then said, "It's my first time to witness this kind of manifestation of God's power through the prayer. So many were healed tonight. The cripple came to walk throwing away his crutches, a pastor with cancer was healed, as were people with diabetes, arthritis and asthma. It was amazing!

“Even a Hindu woman who had not been able to walk by herself for last five months came to walk saying, ‘Jesus healed me. He is my Lord!’ "

Rev. Sereng went on to say, ‘This area is strategically important in missions because there many cultures here. Actually many people came from different parts of this area and now the gospel, I believe, will spread to different parts of the region through this healing festival."

Joseph Han, a Manmin missionary to India, pastor of Chennai Manmin church, said "I give all thanks and honor to God Almighty who has prepared this Healing Festival for leading lots of souls to Christ Jesus and worked mightily through speaker Mikyung Lee tonight to accomplish His will in this region."

On Tuesday, Mikyung Lee conducted a seminar for pastors and church leaders on the subject, "The secrets of church growth based on the practical examples of Rev. Dr. Jaerock Lee and Manmin Joong-ang Church" and again preached the gospel and prayed for the sick on the second night of the healing festival.

Siliguri, where the event is taking places, is the commercial capital of North Bengal. It is a cosmopolitan town with Bengali, Nepali, Bihari, Marwari, and Punjabi people living together peacefully. Situated at the base of the Himalaya mountains in the plains, it connects the hill station towns of Gangtok, Kalimpong and Darjeeling with the rest of India.

KATHMANDU, NEPAL (ANS) -- Some 3,000 people in the Himalayan Kingdom of Nepal, once the only Hindu country in the world but now a country of religious diversity, gathered to hear the good news of Christ Jesus after suffering from the political unrest there for more than a decade.

Hearing the life-giving message and experiencing the powerful works of the Holy Spirit, many of them accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior and found the true peace in Christ Jesus when a Korean mission team conducted a unique "2006 Nepal Healing Festival" with handkerchief in BICC (Birendra International Convention Center), the best equipped venue in Kathmandu, Nepal from Nov. 18 (Sat) and Nov. 19 (Sun), 2006.

The BICC, a three storey structure is designed to serve the world class business, professional and government leaders by combining modern efficiency with traditional Nepalese hospitality.

Elder Bhabindra Rai, the regional director of Campus Crusade for Christ Kathmandu says, "I am so grateful to see so many people gathered, especially from the different religious groups including Hindu and Buddhist, for this festival. I witnessed many people find peace in Jesus the only Savior who redeemed us from all sins and gave us the true peace."

A local Christian performance team from three churches in Kathmandu area led the congregation in praying and praising the Lord.

The Rev. Satya Thapa, senior pastor of Abhinash church based in Lalipur, prayed for opening of the first day of the festival. Rev. Sanu Babu, senior pastor of Bhaktapur Khristiya Church, prayed for opening for the second day.

As a special guest, Hon. Shanta Manabi, Senator and former minister of women and culture, delivered the congratulatory message saying, "I'd like to thank Rev. Dr. Jaerock Lee and Manmin Joong-ang Church, Seoul, Korea, for sending the mission team to Nepal to conduct the healing festival. I hope the people here in Nepal would be united through this festival."

The congregation responded with great excitement when Korean performance team, "Crystal Singers," sang in Nepalese and the Hindi language with wonderfully graceful praise dancing.

Rev. Mikyung Lee, the associate pastor of 100,000-member Manmin Joong-ang Church from Seoul, Korea preached on, "Why is Jesus our only Savior?" on the first night and "The works of the Holy Spirit" on the second night with video clips on the manifestation of God's power through the worldwide ministry of Rev. Dr. Jaerock Lee, the founder and senior pastor. She emphasized, "The false gods can't answer to our prayer, can't move its eyes or listen to the prayer of its worshippers either. Jesus Christ is the only Savior according to the spiritual law. Only through Him, you can receive the salvation, true blessing and true peace." Next day she went on to emphasize, "God is alive and works even today! You can meet Him only if you have faith!"

She urged the congregation to obey the words of God in everyday life so that they may have stronger faith and enjoy the prosperity as their souls are getting along well."

While Rev. Mikyung Lee is praying for the sick, many were approaching to the pulpit to testify their experiences of healing. Some threw away the sticks, some removed the glasses, some shouted "Hallelujah!" after being healed of hearing problem, and various other diseases were healed in the name of Jesus Christ.

Rev. Timothy Rai, the senior pastor of Lokanthali church, who interpreted in Nepalese, said, "It's amazing to witness the manifestation of the power of the living God through Rev. Mikyung Lee from Manmin church. Many pastors were deeply touched by powerful works of the Holy Spirit through the healing festival"

The missionary to Nepal, Grace Lee says, "When I introduced on Manmin ministry here in Kathmandu and Himalayan region, the pastors and church leaders were touched because they could see the very strong manifestation of God's power through Rev. Dr. Jaerock Lee. Some of them wanted to have this kind of healing festival here in Kathmandu. God sincerely answered the prayers of these pastors"

Meanwhile 400 pastors and church leaders in Kathmandu attended the seminar on "The secret of church growth" on Nov. 17(Fri) at BICC. Based on Acts 2:42-47, Rev. Mikyung Lee explained the practical method to experience the revival in the church they are ministering through the example of Manmin Joong-ang Church that was established in 1982 with just 13 members and 7 USD by Rev. Dr. Jaerock Lee and grew up to have 100,000 with 4,600 branch churches globally.

Bro. Jeremi Jung, the international coordinator, said, "I give all thanks to God Almighty for what he has done through the seminar and the healing festival which unified the local churches and encouraged them to have confidence in their heart on the revival of churches in this special season of change in Nepal. Ethics and miracles examined by Christian doctors
Medical professionals given ethical guidelines a “post-human world” and case studies of miracles during two-day conference in Miami

MIAMI, FL (ANS) -- Some 120 medical professionals from 50 countries who were gathering in Miami, Florida, July 13-14 for the World Christian Doctors Network for the 4th annual conference, have been given ethical guidelines in a “post-human world.”

Dr. Gary Gass, Executive Director of the 800,000-member Center for Reclaiming America for Christ, an outreach of Coral Ridge Ministries, told the doctors, “Christian ethics is essentially ‘teleological,’ with its focus on realizing in the here and now the beauty, truth and perfection of life in the Kingdom of God, yet to fully come.

“Health and wholeness have meaning only within the perspective of God’s eternal person and is not an end in itself.

“Doctors should strike to provide optimal conditions for the patient’s spiritual growth at every stage in the life cycle. This means curing disease; but it also means, particularly in terminal cases, easing pain and distress by any appropriate means in order to allow the patient, through prayer, confession and communion, to surrender him/herself into the hands of God.”

Dr. Gass said, “God is absolutely sovereign over every aspect of human existence, from conception to the grave and beyond.”

He added, “It is precisely this authority that requires Christians to reject taking life (and death) into our hands… Doctors have the duty to obey God and the God-given right not to violate their own conscience and be forced to be a party to an unrighteous act, even if the patient desires it.

“This is the case in matters of euthanasia or abortion where the life of the mother is not at risk.

“In Christian ethics we are never forced to choose between ‘wrong,’ but we must sometimes between alternatives that are all unpleasant.

“This is why we need Gold’s Word to illumine our conscience and the Spirit of God, the council of spiritually mature believers, to help us make wise, God-honoring decision.”

Dr. Gass concluded by saying, “It is a Christian vision of healing offered up as an expression of worship to the glory of God, motivated out of love for your neighbor that gives medicine its fullest value and highest meaning.

“This Christian ethic can restore and protect our essential humanity in a ‘post-human’ and bring blessing to all.”

Christian Anti-Defamation League launched

Dr. Gass then announced the founding of the Christian Anti-Defamation League (CADL) of which Dr. D. “Spirituality and Medicine”

The theme of the 4th International Medical Conference is “Spirituality and Medicine” and it began on the Friday morning with a video message from Dr. Jaerock Lee, senior pastor of the 100,000 member-Manmin Joong-ang Church in Seoul, Korea, and founder of the WCDN, as well as remarks from Dr. Joonha Kwang, President of WCDN, and Dr. Armando Pineda-Velez, US Director of WCDN.

What was unique about the conference is that doctors attending all believe in “divine healing” delegates were given case studies by various doctors on miraculous healings that included: Malignant Melanoma (by Dr. Mark Miller), Spina Bifida by (Dr. Sanghun Yeo,) Spontaneous Pneumothorax (by Dr. Yoonseck Chae,) Pneumonia (by Dr. Junseong Kim) and two cases of the healing of Breast Cancer (presented by Dr. Pancheta Wilson.)
 

Korean worship group perform fan dance to worship music

It was unusual to see the medical doctors raising their hands in worship as various bands and performers made their God-honoring music. They included Pastor Joseph Toress and the House of worship Band and the Manmin Performance Team from Seoul with their famous fan dances and a marvelous contemporary electric violin set with the Koreans playing as former Argentine rock singer, Gustavo Lima, sang.

How it all began

Dr. Joonha Hwang, President of WCDN, and a South Korea physician, explained how the organization came into being.

“Two thirds of medical schools in the United States including Harvard and Johns Hopkins, either offer courses on spiritually and faith in their curriculums largely because patients are demanding more spiritual care,” he said.

“According to a Newsweek poll, 84 percent of Americans said that praying for others can have a positive effect on their recovery.

“Along this line of thought, a group of Christian medical doctors have started a movement called WCDN which intends to tackle the issues on spirituality, with its main intention, to influence and equip Christian doctors by sharing the goodness of Christ in the form of proclaiming the gospel principally through the healing ministry.”

Dr. Hwang added, “During the walk of Jesus here on earth, a major strategy He used to proclaim His Lordship was to heal the sick. It is our role as His expert witnesses to testify to the works of healing by the Power of God with verified medical data.”

MIAMI, FL (ANS) -- Dr. Vitaliy Fishberg, a doctor from the Republic of Moldova, a landlocked country in Eastern Europe, located between Romania to the west and Ukraine to the north, east and south, now practices medicine in New York and has explained why he prays for his sick patients and believes in miracle healings.
But first of all, a little background on Dr. Fishberg (MD, PhD, ND, MCAN, Integrative Medicine), whose patients are nearly all drawn from some of 1.5 million Russians living in New York.
He says, “I was born in Kishinev, Moldova in a traditional Jewish atheistic home. My Jewish parents did not believe nor in God, nor in the devil. My grandparents were former communists, but in the end of life started to attend synagogue but without a deep understanding of what it meant.” Accepting Jesus Christ by the ‘great Grace of God’

Dr. Fishberg enters into the worship at the recent World Christian Doctors Network conference in Miami, Florida

Dr. Fishberg says can still clearly remember the day that his life changed. “A few brothers from Gideon's International Institute visited our medical school,” he said. “They were distributing beautiful leather Bibles in Russian. I had always loved beautiful books, so when I saw these striking leather Bibles, I started to run towards them and almost scared them when I took several copies from their hands.

“When I came home that evening, I opened that desired book and started to read. Amazingly for me, I could not understand even one word! Pride started to rise in me.”
He said to himself, “You are the best student, a future professor… and yet you not able to read even a little book!”
Dr. Fishberg continued, “I started to push harder, but still was not able to understand anything. This fight lasted for me for about two hours. Finally, I cried with loud voice in my heart: ‘God, if You exist, help me understand Your book!’
“Immediately, the air in the room started to vibrate and a ‘Power from Above’ fell upon me. I was filled with amazing peace and love. I got really scared from that condition because I understood that it had ‘connections’ with the book. I immediately put it on the farthest bookshelf, but it was already too late. I could not sleep; I did not eat anything and almost did not speak for two and half a days.
“After this, ‘God's Presence’ was lifted from me. I did not tell to anybody about this encounter, but seven days later my best friend Alex (who had secretly prayed for me for many months) invited me to his church. In this church I was amazed that I found the ‘Presence’ which was similar of that which fell upon me. So I liked it and decided to stay there.

Move to the United States
“When I moved to USA, I decided to continue my medical education. So I did doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine, a PhD in Clinical Nutrition and Integrative Medicine, a Doctorate in Alternative medicine, as well as a Doctorate in Orthomolecular Medicine and finally an honorary Doctorate in Natural Health Science. Integrative Medicine is one of the most famous fields in today's American medicine, but the most important for me was that it does not bring any harm to the patients. When I came to new York after my education very soon I became really well-known in the Russian community and many newspapers published my articles every week.”
I spoke with Dr. Fishberg recently at the World Christian Doctors Network 4th Annual Conference held July 13-14 in Miami, Florida, where many cases studies on miracle healings were presented by many other Christian doctors.
He said that his interest in miracles was sparked when he attended meetings led by Dr. Jaerock Lee, senior pastor of the 100,000-member Manmin Joong-Ang Church in Seoul, South Korea and his team, who conducted a “New York Crusade 2006 / Miracles, Salvation, Revival” in "The World's Most Famous Arena" Madison Square Garden on July 27, 28 and 29, 2006.
“I saw amazing signs of God’s power which with so many miracles healing,” he said. “So and I came to this conference to see the evidences of many different signs of God’s power which were well documented by my brothers in Christ -- medical doctors from all around the world.”
I put it to Dr. Fishberg that many medical doctors do not believe in healing.
“First of all,” he said, “I want to tell you that now it’s changed and most medical schools have courses of ‘spirituality and healing’ and more and more American doctors are starting to believe that God can really heal. Secondly, I want to tell you that I have personally witnessed many healings in my life and my practice. I have documented them and maybe at the next conference, I’ll present my cases of healing to my colleagues.”
I asked him what his patients say when he tells them that he would like to pray for them.
He replied, “Some people are really open, especially people who are in New Age, or Kabala [which is what some believe is about tapping into the energy of the Universe.] Another category of people are born-again Christians, and many of them are open for me to pray for them.
“If any of these people ask why I want to pray for them, I tell them that very often the power of God is ‘released’ through the ‘healing prayer’ and they then ask what ‘kind of power’ operates in my life and they also ask who my ‘teacher’ is. I say, ‘My teacher is Jesus Christ and the power which operates in my life is the Holy Spirit.”

A top Korean doctor reveals why he believes in spiritual healing

MIAMI, FL (ANS) -- A top Korean doctor has revealed why he believes in spiritual healing and is now dedicating his life to investigating miracles that cannot be explained medically.

He is Dr. Joonha Hwang, President of the World Christian Doctors Network (WCDN), who was attending the 4th International WCDN Medical Conference with the theme “Spirituality and Medicine” that was held in Miami, Florida, on July 13-14 and attended by some 120 doctors from 50 countries.

Dr. Hwang said in an interview that he graduated from medical school in South Korea and has a medical license and he also got PhD in Neurophysiology.

“After graduation from medical school,” he said, “I was a researcher for Neurophysiology [which is the study of functioning of the nervous system. It is closely connected with neurobiology, psychology, neurology, clinical neurophysiology, electrophysiology, ethology, neuroanatomy, cognitive science and other brain sciences.]”

Dr. Hwang explained why he believes that God can heal supernaturally and not just through medicine.

“I have seen many instances of miraculous healing, especially by the prayer of Reverend Doctor Jaerock Lee, my senior pastor in Korea,” he said. “Healing is written about in the Bible, so I’m very happy about that.”

Dr. Hwang said that when healings take place, he and other doctors check out the healing “with medical data from hospitals before and after the person has received the prayer of faith.”

The doctor said that they conduct exhaustive investigations into claimed healings examine patients who wish to be prayed for and diagnose them for an illness.

“We ask questions of the doctor who cared for the patient and get medical data and check again after the healing to confirm the patient was really healed,” he explained. “We compare the medical data before and after the prayer so we can confirm the healing really happened through the prayer of faith.”

I then asked him how he would convince medical doctors who are not Christian that God can heal.

“Medical doctors are also scientists, so I think they can not deny the evidence,” said Dr. Hwang. “Science is based on evidence so if they are true scientists they should accept the evidence that is laid before them.

“And if the doctor is a Christian, they should believe in the Bible for there we can read of many instances of healing. So it is not difficult to believe that Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today and forever.”

He concluded by saying, “Miracles which happened in the Bible age, are still taking place today.”
